World Development Report 2018 For Nigeria Launched






Nigeria’s Ministries of Finance and Education in collaboration with the World Bank has  launched the World Development Report 2018 for Nigeria.
Both the Minister of Finance, Kemi Adeosun and that of Education, Adamu Adamu expressed optimism that Nigeria will benefit from the recommendations of the report which is  the first devoted entirely to education.
Children of the poor, those with disabilities, girls and those from ethnic minorities have continued to face a learning crisis especially in many low and middle-income countries across the world.
The 2018 World Development Report for Nigeria focuses on how to check the learning crisis in the country given the high level of out of school children and low tertiary education standard.
 Adeosun said that education remains critical to economic development and stressed the need to finance the sector.
Minister of Education, however, stressed the importance of realizing the goal of education which he says can end poverty and check mass illiteracy in the country.
The theme of the launch was “learning to realize education’s promise”.
