Jaw-dropping moment midwife delivers her own baby by C-section and 'pulls it out of herself'

Midwife Emily Dial wasn't going to let a C-section get in the way of her helping to deliver her daughter.

During a midwife's career, he or she will soothe hundreds of fraught parents, assist with countless births and witness just about every scenario under the sun.

Meaning when it comes to having their own babies, they know the drill.

And midwife Emily Dial, from Kentucky, wasn't going to let a C-section stop her from helping to delivering her own baby .

The jaw-dropping images of the new mum assisting in her own childbirth experience were captured beautifully by her friend, photographer, Sarah Hill .

"This was by far one of the most incredible days of my life."

So began Sarah when describing the birth.

"My amazing midwife, Emily Dial, not only had a C-section, but SHE PULLED THE BABY OUT HERSELF! It was unreal.

"It was unreal," she added on Facebook. "To say that she is amazing, is an understatement."Sarah and Emily had met three years ago when Emily had been Sarah's midwife.

The two women soon hit it off, becoming firm friends.

"As soon as she found out she was expecting, she asked me to photograph the birth," Sarah tells Love What Matters .

"She told me she planned on pulling the baby out herself during her planned C-section and of course I was all for it!"

This is not the first time Emily elected to have a C-section.

Back in 2012, she and husband welcomes their first son, Grayson."It was truly a full circle moment," said Emily. "It was tying together the two things I love the most: my family and my career.

"It truly was one of the happiest moments of my life. I felt so supported by everyone in the room. My physicians are not only my colleagues but my friends, which made it all the more special.

"Even more, not knowing the baby's gender before the birth made the experience all the more monumental."Since sharing the images, Sarah has bee "overwhelmed" by the hugely positive reaction they've got.

She adds: "The biggest thing I've taken away from sharing these since yesterday is the overwhelming response with how much this has touched other C-section mommas."I've cried reading that this gave them insight to what their birth was like since they couldn't see it or participate in it."
